Enhanced Digital Access Communications System, a Public Safety Communications product of M/A-COM required extensive training, equipment, and software to install and maintain. Mobile data is a term that can apply to many different applications. One of the largest users of integrated mobile data is the taxi industry. Typically, the taxi terminals integrate GPS location, automatic dispatch, callout, credit card transactions, and mileage logging. CCI currently installs and maintains three fleets comprising about 1500 mobile data terminals with integrated dispatch.

CCI has had many years of experience designing, installing, and maintaining in-building portable communications systems for many different users, hospitals, government, college, etc. All of these are critical for the customer and must provide coverage in all areas. Each installation has unique characteristics that require careful analysis, and special system design. September 11, 2001 has brought the issue of in-building coverage to the forefront for Public Safety users. Recently, legislation passed in Virginia, and pending in other jurisdictions will require new buildings, and buildings under going major renovations to certify that coverage for the Public Safety System in their jurisdiction meets certain signal levels. If signal levels are insufficient the owner must install remediation systems to provide communications. These systems can be quite expensive if designed by inexperienced designers. CCI has invested significant money in equipment and software to provide accurate studies and supply cost-effective solutions for building owners.
